Organic
Since day one the "original" Spillproof Canisters have been organic and made of 100% organic, non-toxic fragrance oils with no volatile organic compounds (VOC's)
Recyclable & biodegradable
California Scents' continued commitment to the environment has expanded to their packaging and product contents with all packaging being recyclable and the fiber pads are biodegradable.
Animal-friendly
All products are free of animal testing. The organic fiber pads used in the spillproof items do not pose harm to animals if accidentally ingested
What is EnviroKleen?
EnviroKleen is a "green"certification program offered by Chem-Tel Inc. to address the growing need to distinguishing items for the consumer that are environmentally friendly. In order to pass this certification, the products must meet or exceed the criteria outlined in the program.
The products are tested for: (1) Sensitisation - ingredients that may elicit allergic response or are considered "indoor air pollutants" when airborne, (2) Carcinogenicity - ingredients that may cause cancer, (3) Mutagenicity - ingredients that are mutagens and may cause genetic alteration, (4) Reproductive Toxicity - ingredients that may affect or inhibit the reproductive system, (5) Environmental Persistence - period of time ingredients take to degrade, (6) Aquatic Toxicity - ingredients that may pollute water, (7) Other Hazard Characteristics - tests for presence of Hazardous Materials, (8) Compliance with IFRA guidelines - (International Fragrance Association) - fragrance ingredients are in compliance with safe use concentrations and avoidance of prohibited ingredients, (9) Compliance with E.U. (European Union) approvals and (10) General compliance with EnviroKleen Standards.

This "green" certification program was instigated by the introduction of Executive Order 13101 directing government agencies to purchase environmentally preferable products and the increasing number of consumers demanding "green" products.
